Membership

Why Join the Indiana Beekeepers Association?

If you aren't yet a member of the Indiana beekeepers' Association, you are missing out on the many benefits of belonging to this GREAT organization!

For a very nominal membership fee, you will receive a copy of the IBA Newsletter published quarterly.  Also, you will be eligible to subscribe to three beekeepers' favorite publications, Bee Culture, American Bee Journal, and Speedy Bee at a 25% discount.

In addition to being kept informed of beekeeping activities around Indiana as well as nation-wide, you will also have the opportunity to personally meet many other Indiana beekeepers via several conferences, and workshops.  You'll  be informed about the many field clinics taking place in all areas of the state and available to you, generally at no charge.

By attending regular meetings held by the IBA's local associations (see the 'Contact Us' tab of this website), you will gain invaluable knowledge about beekeeping from longtime beekeepers and researchers and you'll also get to know others who are just getting started in beekeeping.  Best of all...you'll meet beekeepers from all walks of life and different levels of experience who are anxious to share their expertise.

"The IBA helps to support local clubs with advice and speakers. Our dues help to fund the website that is free for everyone to use. I like the IBA and the ISBA for the people they help bring together. For me, it's more than the benefits I receive, it's what I can do to help other beekeepers.  It's kind of like giving money to Missions.

Every beekeeper has some effect on the other beekeepers around them. If other beekeepers bees are weak and sick then that can make mine weak or sick. Personally I'm interested in helping others and that helps me. Being a part of the IBA, helps you to be well informed and represented on a state level as well as nationally if possible. We need to get other beekeepers to see the big picture and get them to understand they are helping others as well as themselves." by Jim Owen, Director IBA
